Colameco's Food Show:

Mike Colameco in the kitchen at Tocqueville Colameco's Food Show is going into it's 8th season as the only food show on television that showcases the New York City restaurant scene. Since it's launch in 2000 this series has maintained its ranking as one of the highest rated cooking shows ever on both 13WNET New York and WNJN New Jersey. Shot guerilla documentary style, Colameco and his seasoned PBS camera crew take you back stage behind the scenes to visit with chefs and restaurateurs. This isn't reality TV, this is really what goes on in New York's most interesting restaurants. From the kitchens of Per Se, Le Bernardin, Daniel and Ducasse, to the best fried chicken in Harlem, noodles in Chinatown, Korean Stir fry on 32nd street, the best hot dogs, sandwiches, burgers, and ingredient shopping.

Each half hour episode is a stand alone tour of a restaurant or two, a neighborhood, an ingredient, or a market. New York City is the food capitol of the planet, and no other program has the access or presents the information with better clarity and wit. At the end of each show Mike prepares a dish shot in real time, in one take, based on the theme of the show, using simple techniques and easy to find ingredients. In short this program is the perfect blend of information, serious content, no attitude, real recipes that actually work and good old fashioned entertainment.
